2017 Season - Week 21 (Cont)

SuperGames

And so we are a week away from SuperBowl LII. If you cannot make it to HQ next Sunday for the big game but still want to have a wager or two, we will be playing the usual games at the traditional price of £1 per game. Remember all money is split equally between the games winners as gambling is the work of the devil and the BUMS is a non-profit making organisation. Attached is the price of the SuperBowl players so you can enter your team (usual play-off rules 1 x QB, 1 x K, 4 x Outfield Players for a maximum of $7.5m). The other games are First Player to Score (QB only if he runs it in), team leading by Quarter eg Tie,Tie,Patriots,Eagles. (TTPE), Half-time score and Full-time score. Anatomy of A Champion This was probably the second greatest Papas Fritas victory behind John Botten’s 2006 winning Weymouth Bay Bargaineers where every player cost $0.5m. Why such a great feat this year I hear you ask. Well Craig’s first year $3m franchise man David Johnson was lost for the season during the opening game. Despite playing with just 7 players and a $7m budget for the year the Leamington Hedgehogs finished 9 points ahead of Sofa Wreckers. Craig’s other franchise player was wideout Michael Crabtree who scored 52 points. Drafting last Craig took Charger RB Melvin Gordon (72pts) with the 16th pick of the draft. In the second round he drafted kicker Wil Lutz who scored 140 points for $1m. Round 3 was less successful taking Donte Moncrief but the Colt receiver only scored two TDs by week 10 and so was replaced by first Julius Thomas (6 pts) and then after injury Tyrel Williams who scored one TD in his 2 games. In round 4 he took Titan Head Coach Mike Mularkey who had 9 wins for just half a million dollars but it was in week 5 he found a gem, signing Eagle QB Carson Wentz for $0.5m. Before his injury in week 14 Wentz had scored 103 points and Craig replaced him with Nick Foles who went on to score 15 more points. The 2017 Mr Irrelevant was Seahawk receiver Doug Baldwin who totalled 50 points for $2m. All-BUMS Voting – Deadline Wednesday Thanks to those who have already voted for their favourite players of 2017. If you have not voted yet remember I need (in order) your top 3 Running Backs and top 3 Receivers plus your number 1 & 2 Quarterbacks, Kickers and Coaches. Vote for your players based on BUMS points, how much you enjoy them, what they meant to their BUMS roster/NFL team or just the fact they were on your roster. The deadline is Wednesday, January 31st so please vote now if you haven’t already done so already. (See POSscoring 2017 attached).
